MEDEA THEATRE GROUP was founded in January 2020 by founding members Director Emmanouil Mavros and Architect & Art Director Rena Santamouri. The ensemble consists of experienced professional actors and choreographers as permanent associate members.
MEDEA THEATRE GROUP does not operate as a collective; therefore, depending on the selection of the plays, new collaborators join from time to time to complement the repertoire and the permanent core of the team.
Our starting point and ultimate destination is the creation of performances that offer the audience a complete theatrical experience. We look forward to active spectators and allies whose observations and feedback contribute to the storytelling and the overall result.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Kypseli, DROMOS Theatre serves as the permanent sanctuary and creative powerhouse for the Medea Theatre Group. More than just a stage, it is a living artistic hub where bold visions come to life. Within its intimate atmosphere, our ensemble rehearses, experiments, and crafts immersive performances—ranging from ancient drama to modern European classics—before taking them on tour across Greece and abroad. Medea Pictures is the production company representing Medea Theatre Group, driving its artistic vision and backing its theatrical, film, and cultural endeavors. Dedicated to high-quality storytelling and creative excellence, Medea Pictures actively seeks new horizons and remains open to collaborative partnerships with other production companies, cultural organizations, and creative institutions worldwide.

Emmanuel Mavros
Film/TV & Stage Director – Producer – Writer
Emmanouil Mavros is a Greek theatre and film director, producer, and author with an extensive background in performing arts and media. He studied Film and Television Production at South Bank University in London and holds a Master of Arts in Greek Civilization from the University of Patras.
He is the co-founder and artistic director of DROMOS Theatre in Athens, as well as the co-founder and managing director of the production company Medea Pictures. Throughout his career, Emmanouil has directed numerous stage productions, news documentary series, and independent projects, while also authoring three novels.
Driven by a passion for classical and modern drama, scriptwriting, and educational masterclasses, his work bridges timeless narratives with contemporary stage and screen storytelling—fostering meaningful dialogue between the art and its audience.
Rena Santamouris
Architect, Art Director & Producer
Rena Santamouri is a Greek architect, art director, and producer with a rich background in spatial design and visual storytelling. Combining her expertise in architecture with a passion for the performing arts, she plays a central role in shaping the aesthetic identity and visual narrative of stage productions and cultural projects.
In 2020, she co-founded the production company Medea Pictures alongside director Emmanouil Mavros, while also serving as co-manager and art director for DROMOS Theatre in Athens. Her work seamlessly integrates set design, spatial concepts, and production management, bringing a distinctive, cohesive vision to every artistic venture—from intimate theatre plays to large-scale cultural initiatives and film productions.
Styliani Klidona
Actress – Ass. Director
Styliani Kleidona is a talented Greek actress recognized for her captivating stage presence and artistic versatility. Dedicated to the craft of performing arts, she has built a rich portfolio collaborating on classical drama, modern plays, and experimental theatrical productions.
With a strong foundation in dramatic performance and physical expression, Styliani brings depth, authenticity, and emotional intensity to her roles. As an active collaborator in vibrant ensemble projects, she continues to explore new creative boundaries, contributing significantly to contemporary stage storytelling..
Ira Damigou
Actress – Acting Coach & Teacher
Ira Damigou is a versatile Greek actress with a strong presence in theatre and the performing arts. Known for her expressive range and deep emotional commitment on stage, she collaborates regularly with contemporary theatre groups and directors, bringing compelling characters to life across classical, modern, and experimental repertoires.
As a core collaborator in dynamic stage productions, Ira combines physical expressiveness with nuanced dramatic delivery. Her dedication to storytelling, ensemble work, and continuous artistic exploration makes her a vital voice in contemporary Greek theatre.

The aim of the Medea Theatre Group is to traverse an extensive repertoire spanning ancient drama—both tragedy and comedy—as well as Shakespearean theatre, contemporary European, and modern Greek drama. Our permanent home is DROMOS Theatre, yet our company consistently expands its horizons to larger stages across Attica and through nationwide tours in Greece. Alongside this, the group aims to participate in theatre festivals and feature or documentary films worldwide.
