Stefanos Kakavoulis is a graduate of the Film Directing department at IEK AKMI and the Giorgos Armenis Higher Drama School. Since 2004, he has been active as an actor, playwright, and director. Among other productions, he participated in The Importance of Being Earnest (directed by G. Livanos) and Bent (directed by D. Karatzias, for which he received an acting award).

His original plays have been staged in Athens venues, including Dionysian Night (directed by G. Paloumpis) and Father’s Children (awarded Best Original Script in 2013), which he also directed. As a filmmaker, he has directed three short films, the medium-length film Dionysian Night (2010), and the documentaries The Statue of Spyros Louis, Restoration of the Academy of Athens (2009), Paraschos’ Walk, and Smoking the Past (2011, officially selected for the 2012 Thessaloniki Documentary Festival).
